USPTO TEASi – Trademark International Registration

International application for Madrid system are made through Trademark Electronic Application System (TEASi) – Online Filing.  The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) perform its role as certifying and forwarding authority and if the international application is in accordance with the legal requirements the USPTO will certify and forward the international application to the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (IB).

An application submitted through the USPTO for international registration must be based on:

  • An application that is currently pending in the USPTO
  • A registration that the USPTO has already issued
