The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property is the federal agency for the protection of intellectual property in Switzerland. It was founded in 1888 and has its headquarters in Bern. As an organisation it was incorporated under public law on 1 January 1996.  This office has the honour that Einstein worked there as technical assistant Patent from 1902 to 1909 with one promotion from technical assistant-level III to technical assistant-level II in the year 1906. The Institute protects Trademark, Patent, Design and Copyright.
